One of my favorite images throughout the entire Twilight Zone series is Murray Hamilton as Mr. Death breaking the fourth wall and making eye contact with the viewer. Hamilton’s straightforward gaze, with a semi-exasperated expression and his bureaucratic-grade suit make Mr. Death a sort of census taker. 

Thinking about it, Twilight Zone has many images of death. Death is a person, a place, a thing. It’s greeted with fear, resignation, joy and anger. In reviewing and reflecting on the many incarnations of death within TZ, I’m hoping to understand it a bit more myself.
